Any new consumer device — routers, mesh systems, smart home devices, printers, cameras, phones, tablets, computers. The AI walks you through the complete setup process, accounts for your existing ecosystem (Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Alexa, etc.), and makes sure the device is connected and configured correctly before you're done.
How it differs from the written setup guides
The written guides at /setup work well for straightforward setups. The AI tool is better when:
- You have a specific device combination (e.g., adding a Nest thermostat that also needs to connect to Google Home and an existing Eero network)
- Something doesn't work as expected mid-setup
- You want guidance specific to your exact model rather than a general walkthrough
How to use it
Go to Productivity → New Device Setup and click Open Setup Tool. Tell the AI what device you just bought and it walks you through the entire process step by step, asking about your existing setup along the way.
